Baltimore, MD (May 30, 2018) – Med-IQ, Inc., a leading provider of clinical and risk management education, consulting services, and quality improvement solutions, today announced that it has been recognized by the Alliance for Continuing Education in the Health Professions (ACEhp) as winner of the Best in Class Outcomes People’s Choice Award. The selected educational initiative is an innovative online activity that simulates patient encounters in managing venous thromboembolism (VTE). Created in collaboration with ProPatient, the video-based simulation focuses on improving evidence-based decision-making and improving patient outcomes.
The ACEhp award recognizes educational initiatives that address gaps through outcomes-based education and that deliver a measurable improvement in the quality of patient care. In the simulation environment, Med-IQ and ProPatient have provided a safe space for clinician learners to practice critical decision-making skills and gain insights from expert perspectives.
“The video-based environment provides a real-life feel to the simulated patient encounter, offering learners the opportunity to not only assess their current approaches to disease management but also improve their critical decision-making skills,” said Julie Blum, Senior Clinical Content Manager at Med-IQ. “Additionally, this platform provides us, as the educator, with a wealth of insights and information into clinician practice patterns and behaviors prior to and after the education.”
The award-winning initiative was supported by an educational grant from Bristol-Myers Squibb and Pfizer Alliance.
