Baltimore, MD (April 30, 2019) – Med-IQ, Inc., a leading provider of clinical and risk management education, consulting services, and quality improvement solutions, announced that it has been selected as a joint provider by the Society to Improve Diagnosis in Medicine (SIDM) to accredit its 12th Annual International Diagnostic Error in Medicine Conference in Washington, DC, in November. This year’s theme is Shaping Policy, Improving Practice.
Diagnostic error is one of the most important safety problems in healthcare today and inflicts the most harm. Estimates suggest that 1 in 10 diagnoses are incorrect. The annual meeting is designed to showcase developments in the field of diagnostic quality and safety and examine the unique role of public policy in driving advances in research, quality improvement, and medical education.
Med-IQ is accredited (with commendation) by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) and will be responsible for establishing an accreditation support team. This team will be responsible for assuring the education provided is compliant with ACCME criteria. Med-IQ will communicate regularly with SIDM compiling the needs assessment, program evaluation, and advertisements for the educational activity, all in accordance with ACCME standards and guidelines.
“We are thrilled to be a joint provider with an organization whose mission is very much aligned with Med-IQ’s goal to improve patient outcomes. Helping to eliminate risk, reduce errors, and establish quality improvement initiatives is what we do at Med-IQ. SIDM’s mission to improve the accuracy and timeliness of diagnosis and eliminate harm from error is so important to this cause.”
