According to the World Health Organization, 1 in 7 children aged 10 to 19 experience a mental health disorder, yet many remain unrecognized and untreated. By routinely screening for mental health concerns, providing patient and family education, offering first-line treatment, and facilitating specialty and emergency mental healthcare, pediatric clinicians have the potential to improve the lives of many children and their families. This course aims to illustrate the application of decision-support tools by pediatric clinicians for patients presenting with anxiety, eating disorders, and recent suicidal ideation.
